Farmers Market Coordinator Location Port Orchard, WA :

Abstract: Port Orchard Farmers Market [Market Coordinator] works to oversee and promote

POFM and all its events within the farmers market season.

Job Responsibilities: Under the guidance and direction of the Port Orchard Farmers Market

Board of Directors, the Market Coordinator will be responsible for performing the following

duties:

● Create an annual calendar of events

● Create any marketing materials, logos, flyers, banners etc.

● Update the POFM website as needed

● Direct volunteers during market day and special events

● Maintain, promote, recruit volunteers and purchase materials for POP Club

● Purchase materials for special events and promotions

● Maintain weekly Facebook promotions

● Create/oversee market flyers, posters,and swag

● Promote special events

● Recruit sponsorships for special events and the market season

● Work with special committees as needed

● Oversee special promotion communications such as newspapers, billboards etc.

● Communicate with volunteers/ manager weekly as needed for special events

● Submit and present marketing and event ideas to the Board of Directors for

approval and action.

● Work to create impactful events that increase market participation for both

customers and vendors.

● Perform other duties as assigned

● Work at the farmers market location specified by the POFM Board of Directors,

which is outside and involves all weather conditions. The POFM does not have a

centralized office location; therefore the Market Coordinator must be able to

work from another location on record keeping, correspondence, planning, and

other POFM activities.

● Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Graphic design.

Familiarity with Google Workspace and Google Drive

● Social media skills including posting advertisements, daily updates and answering

customer questions.

● Familiarity with website builders, such as Wix or Weebly.

● Active Social Media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc...

● Insured vehicle, cell phone, computer (laptop is preferred)

● Educational requirement: minimum high school degree, preferred college degree

● Experience with Farmers Markets or Washington agriculture preferred

● Familiarity with Port Orchard and Kitsap County

● Be a licensed driver in the State of Washington with a safe driving record.

Physical Demands:

● Lifting 40 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing

up to 20lbs.

Conditions and Benefits:

  • This is a part-time, flexible position with hours ranging 10-15 hours per week during the PFM

season (Jan- Oct), and 5-10 hours per week (Nov/Dec) in the off-season, under the guidance of

the PFM

Board of Directors.

  • Compensation commensurate with experience.
  • This is a paid position, with no benefits or vacation pay.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week

  • Weekends as needed
